I’ll admit, I’m picky about steak. Torrance has a weirdly great split between old-school red sauce joints and no-nonsense Japanese spots, so you can find a bone-in ribeye one night and kara age the next.

I’ve eaten my way through both extremes, even the place that served my steak cold (I’m still bitter). The line cooks here take their beef seriously, and the lunch rush proves it.

Go hungry, bring patience, and let the list be your guide.

Steak arrived rare and cold, not medium-rare as ordered
Lobster fettuccine was thin in texture
Mashed potatoes and cheesecake were subpar
Service was slow throughout the meal
Mixed inedibility with potential—needs consistency

La Traviata Italian Restaurant disappointed me, unfortunately. I ordered the steak medium-rare, but it arrived rare and cold. The lobster fettuccine had a thin, watery sauce, not what I expected. Mashed potatoes were bland, and the cheesecake lacked flavor. Service was slow throughout the meal, and I had to flag someone down. There is potential here, but the execution fell short. I left feeling frustrated and hungry. I might give it another shot someday, but not soon. Consistency is key, and it missed that mark.
