Lakewood's Mexican food game is no secret to anyone who's fought for parking near the Del Amo lot on a Friday. It’s a straight-up embarrassment of riches.

You can hit a polished spot like Ruta 15 for a perfectly balanced cocktail and expertly seared steak, then roll into a loud, dancing-on-tiles joint like Alegria Cocina Latina for chilequiles the next night. I’ve done the eating for you, from Sonoratown's show-stealing burrito to a molcajete at Patricia's that could feed a small army.

Just do yourself a favor and bring an appetite. Here’s where to go.
